- Trying to get a lost or stolen password is a frustrating and time consuming ordeal. I (hate to admit it) got my account spoofed one morning and it took me a month to get my account back. I had the account since Yahoo started and I hadn't set up a secret question, so I had to prove to Yahoo that it was really my account. I had to send them a lot of *real* documentation, including the e-mail they had sent me when I first opened the account. Just keep trying and work withYahoo support; don't lose hope.
- Yahoo! takes account verification very seriously. Therefore, you must remember some very key information from your current account or from the time of registration. This information includes your DOB (date of birth), security question/answer, zip code, etc. The first step in retreiving a forgot password is going to http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_forgot_pw to try and obtain it online. However, if you cannot retrieve it because you forgot some information, you will have to escalate this issue to the customer care team. The escalation form is located at http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/edit/c... Just fill out this form and click 'Send' to escalate this to the Yahoo! registration customer care team. Again, if you cannot verify the key components of your account now or at the time of registration, you will not be able to gain access to the account.
- Does your last edit/comment mean the issue has been resolved ?? If so, you should pick a best answer as these two people offer to help or close out so someone like me doesn't try to answer it again hahaha
