im having refrigerator problem the gasket around frige and freezer are hot, I took off the back cover and dust

lint about 11/2 ago and i touch some big part in back of frige and they are hot frige seems to be keeping cold I think freezer might be getting colder food was thawing out. and suggestion what it might be?

  1. All refrig. * freezers have heat tracers in the gaskets so as to keep moisture from forming around the doors. Some refrig. have a switch inside so as if you want to turn off the door heat. If the house is not humid you can turn it off with no moisture forming. Commercial freezers have this heated door gaskets so as to keep the doors from freezing shut as their temp is much lower than a home freezer.
  2. Around the cabinet side of your refrige, the freon lines run thru there to stop moisture from forming. Coils on back are hot because that is the heat being removed from refridge in order to cool temps inside! A refrigerator works by removing heat from air leaving it colder! Example: 70 degrees minus 10 degrees heat equal 60 degrees and so on!
