What are some exercises to loosten and help my back problem?
Im 15 and sometimes suffer from a sore lower back problem and it sometimes moves to the centre of my back too. What can I do to exercise and improve my weak back?

- First, if you have chronic back problems - ask this same question to a medical professional before you take our advice. You will want to do low impact exercises, yoga is a fantastic core-building workout. Give it a try. Stay away from heavy weights and traditional weight lifting techniques until you consult with a doc about your problem. Low impact and strain is the key for now.
- First of all, I'd get it checked out and make sure it's not due to a medical problem. Secondly, I'd find out if I was wearing the right shoes with the proper arch supports. Bad shoes can really wreck your back. Yoga is excellent to help a back problem, and one of the best things you can do for your back is to strengthen your stomach muscles by doing abdominal exercises. As one who suffered from a bad back, I wouldn't recommend working with weights unless you're supervised. Using them the wrong way can hurt your back. Also, when you do exercises, make sure the small of your back is not arched. Very important to keep it on the floor. One excellent thing to relieve back pain is to lie on the floor and bend your knees. Take your right leg and rest your right foot on your left knee and vice versa. Don't arch your back. Another one is to lie on your left side and move your right leg in front of you, with your right foot on the floor, and vice versa.
- The absolute best thing I have found is Inversion Therapy. I use a Teeter Hang-ups that enables me to completely decompress my back while building core strength by doing inverted sit-ups and crunches with zero impact on my lower back. Inversion enables you to create a state of negative pressure within the discs of you back. What this means is that if you have conditions such as herniated discs, the negative pressure can actually suck the herniation back into it's normal position effectively relieving the pressure on the nerve roots. With inversion therapy you can get the same benefit of decompression therapy that chiropractors charge $100.00 to $150.00 per session for a fraction of the cost!
