I am having a problems downloading a game from a new disc.?

I bought a new Blackhawk Down game. Game is a Novalogic game. When I try to download it I get an error that says problems transferring files and it stops loading where do I look for the problem? Disc is in very very good shape. It is in my computer somewhere. What do i look for that would cause it to time out and where do i look got no idea? I have windows XP home edition.
