HOW to get flat abs with having back problems such as l4-l5 disc protrusion?

  1. I have 2 bulging discs and one with a narrowing in my lumbar area. I suggest doing water aerobics, walking in the water, and when you are in better shape, walk on a treadmill. You may not get prefectly flat abs but they will tighten up.
  2. do isometric ab exercises (for example, holding pushup postion for time) rather than ones that flex your spine like crunches
